The Disability Scorecard

How do the UK political parties compare on Disabled People's rights?

Welcome to the Disability Scorecard Results Page, a tool designed to help you compare the commitments of major political parties in the UK to the demands outlined in the Disabled People’s Manifesto.
This scorecard provides a straightforward way to compare where each party stands on key issues affecting disabled people across the country.
On the 29th of May 2024, we sent letters to the UK political parties with the Disability Scorecard, grading their policies based on the Disabled People’s Manifesto for #GeneralElectionUK2024.

See how they compared here.

Key Summary.

From Highest to lowest scores.

Green

The Green Party was the first party to respond to the Disability Scorecard. It is committed to ALL aspects of disability justice demanded in the Disabled Peoples Manifesto, from Accessibility to Transport, and it achieved the highest score.

The Green Party expanded on what else they would do on some demands. Click below to read more about the Green Party's Response to the Disability Scorecard.

Labour

Labour responded to the Scorecard one day after the  extended deadline. Labour did not fully commit to disability justice in Accessibility, Education, Health, Housing, Representation and Voice, Rights, Social Care, Social Security, or Transport. Labour committed to most of the Disabled People Manifesto demands in Employment.

Conservatives

The Conservative Party had no response to any of the demands of the Disabled People's Manifesto.

Liberal Democrats

The Liberal Democrats did not complete the Disability Scorecard. They explained that they did not answer any surveys as they lacked capacity and time but pointed to their manifesto as demonstrating their commitment to the disabled community.
